There are a few songs out there that are so great it’s almost scaring. Let me recommend some of these songs to those of you who seek for more in music than chewed for lyrics and stereotyped melodies.
A first one is certainly the great Only Lonely by Hootie And The Blowfish:
Hello again, your words they make me smile
As I drift away in my little room upstairs
Then I realize I don’t even know your name
If we could share our time, would I disappoint your fantasies?
But I believe that I could be the one you’re needed ’cause I’m
Only lonely on the inside
Didn’t mean to take away your dreams
Only lonely on the inside
When you close your eyes to your deepest thoughts
Another one is the funereal May Angels Lead You In by Jimmy Eat World:
May angels lead you in
And if you were with me tonight
I’d sing to you just one more time
A song for a heart so big
God wouldn’t let it live
May angels lead you in
Hear you me my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
Then the heart rending Man Of The Hour by Pearl Jam
Tidal waves don’t beg forgiveness
Crashed and on their way
Father he enjoyed collisions, others walked away
A snowflake falls in May
And the doors are open now as the bells are ringing out
Cause the man of the hour is taking his final bow
Goodbye for now
And last but not least one which I already wrote about, Funerals To Come by Katatonia:
Through the bleak window of my soul
In marble halls of falling snow
Winter touch the Earth undone
Embittered we embrace the funerals to come
