Nobody got the right answer, so it’s probably my task to explain what these actors have in common. The answer, in a nutshell, is: they all belong to the Brat Pack. Now, what is that, you might ask. The expression Brat Pack is, obviously, an allusion to the famous Rat Pack in the 1960s and was coined by David Blum in a 1985 article in the NY Magazine. This group of actors were the ones that appeared in the 1980s’ teenager movies, such as The Breakfast Club or The Lost Boys. Hall and Moore are considered to be two of the eight core members (the others being Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy), while the other actors I’ve listed are being regarded as auxiliary members.
A similar group of actors also exists today and is called the Frat Pack – frat being a shorthand for fraternity. The core members of the Frat Pack are Jack Black, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, Owen Wilson and Steve Carell. Jim Carrey is sometimes also seen as a member, though he only participated in one Frat Pack movie, namely The Cable Guy.
As Raffael suggested that they have all played in the same movie, I guess he’s the one who got closest to the answer. Congrats. :)
